re-fashion - pirate shorts

BEFORE

AFTER
Just a little fabric paint, some stencils for the front, and a husbie drawn picture on the back (which I coloured in), a little old denim I frayed for the flag and some size 3 shorties re-claimed... now just to hope our nephew likes them... and they fit he he

oh this was meant to be a little teaser post, but I didn't do it because it seemed stupid.
This is my husbies doodle page before he drew on the pants :)
I just love the way my husbie of gorgeous draws :) Even his ultra quickies.

LOL FAIL Flower brooch

Back from June 2008
I was trying for a shabby look I saw on a website I visited at the time, but it came across as neither. I can only imagine what gramma thought when she got it hehe
It also had a secret little pocket behind the flower for stashing cash etc :)

Last night after watching Fido, which is totally watchable but not something that I would recommend as a must see.
Anyway, back to subject... I coerced my hubby into a crafty night with me.
His gram sent me a birthday card with some money so I wanted to send a thank you card (so she knows I received hers) and also something homemade.

This is the flower I made, my first ever, there are a few things that I am going to do different on the next one but I like the look, the shabby. The colors are a really hot pink and deep purple, I guess I need a little more practice with the new camera huh? :P

I found a little plastic folder in which to send the card below in, it is an old pillowcase packaging which should be great because she can hang it if she wants to when she receives it.

I got my hubby to work on a card, with paints no less!! My hubby can draw amazingly as I am sure if he had some practice he should be able to paint also, so I set him on the task of the card.
I think it turned out beautiful, even though he says he stuffed the flower etc. and the ribbon touch is just gorge.

Tights are a must have this winter! IMO

I am just so excited about the cold weather coming soon! I am going to be lighter and hence be able to wear much prettier clothes.
No more pants for me this winter.. skirts and tights all the way!
Especially with all the super cute offerings around... nothing plain and boring, loud, colourful and statement pieces!
Match your clothes to your tights and NOT your tights to your cloths! :)

Here are just a sample! :)
Remember to click on the pictures to be taken to the website! :)

If you are on a budget or just have your own design in mind but can not find anything like it why not try and make your own?!
I know I will be one of these days!

Here are two places you can start experimenting!

Painted tights are a fun project that you can complete in a weekend, allowing you to wear your creation the following week. There are many kinds of fabric paints, and the effects that can be achieved vary from a thick plastic look to washed-out tones that look like watercolors. In between, there are all kinds of glitter and frosting paints to add some sparkle to your wardrobe.

If you do follow one of the tutorials, it's always nice to leave a comment on that persons page, sometimes it's hard to keep blogging and always SO nice when people appreciate your efforts in providing a little knowledge :)

Glass painting

I am a little bit embarrassed to post this but meh... got points for trying right?! I should just call this a lol craft fail blog!

I like to recycle everything, not mainly for cost but for enviro choices... you know less waste etc..
Anyway I have like a ton of glass jars and stuff that I use that were just so boring, so I thought I would et some glass paints and give brightening them up a go.

The pattern I was going to try and mimic (free hand no doubt) silly idea!...

The jars drawn on with black texta.

Our neighbourhood kitty I feed, Mr Tocks , AKA Ghost kitty, isn't he gorgeous! If this house we owned he would be living here!
He was out here helping me :)
The finished product ... LOL right?

My little work bench.. I had to do it outside because I have kitties and the fumes were .. woah!...
Ok that is one craft giggle! :)

Painting with the Fishes

Ok that was a dumb quote... you know swimming with the fishes? lol AAAAAnyway
This is a post from my old blog, to show how totally suck I am at most crafts, but that does not stop a girl from trying :P
I'll just re-post :

Just a quick show and tell. I decided one night that it would be fun to have a painting night, just me, my hubby some wine, poster paints and old computer paper.

This is how is turned out, I don't think I have to even tell you who's is who's' :P And yes my hubby loves sharks! ;)

I know it looks goofy but it brings back memories also. When I was very little I painted a fish like this for my mum, who took it into work with her. When she came home that day she said that they liked it so much at work, that I had to do like 3 extra for different people.
I was so excited that people would actually like something I did (I was very little) :P
But then also how could anyone not like something with lots of colors or am I the only "polish Princess" (as my husband calls me because of my love is colors and anything sparkly) out there? ;)
