My hubby made a simple stencil from a simple drawing, for the base of the skull. All the detail etc was my hubby practicing his shading and line work.
It is so important that you practice these things because they will make everything MUCH less frustrating when you move onto proper work.
The line work is to get used to air flow, and distance from paper.
